About John
MC John / Percussionist
I started DJing at 15 as a roadie and assistant DJ while working part-time for a multi-operator company. Early on, I realized that great music was only part of the equation—what makes a wedding unforgettable is personalization, energy, and technology .
After college, I founded Mirage Music Productions to move away from cookie-cutter entertainment and toward a more elegant meaningful experience. Over time, that vision grew into customized introductions, custom music and video edits, formal dance video overlays, and other creative touches—always with couples in control of the details.
Mirage evolved into John Angelo Events.
I’ve professionally completed 1,000+ receptions, and I’ve been personally trained by talented, creative wedding DJs from both the East and West Coasts. My performance background includes appearing in one episode of Reading Rainbow with Juilliard, and playing percussion with the New Jersey Symphony at Carnegie Hall, as well as with the Allentown Symphony and the Northeast Pennsylvania Philharmonic.
John Angelo Events has earned The Knot’s Best of Weddings AWARD every year since 2009, been honored with The Knot’s Hall of Fame, and was voted Pocono Times DJ of the Year for 10 consecutive years. We serve the Poconos, Lehigh Valley, Northeast PA, Northern New Jersey, and New York—with a focus on helping couples create celebrations that are fun, meaningful, and beautifully memorable.
